Sometimes the beard gets the better of a man. This Whiskerino my beard was at war with itself; much like my life. Its been a very difficult Whiskerino for me this year (as it has been for a few of you) and without this community, I'd likely seclude myself to a room, wearing some costumer, pretending everything was fine (...wait ...). To quote: "4 months is far too short a time to live among such excellent and admirable Beardos. I don't know half of you half as well as I should like. And I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve." Thank you all for the memories, the kinds words, the loving support, the sarcasm and zings; its been well worth it. I love you all.

Not exhaustive; but a good start of music that found other music and found other music ... a-ha -- hunting high and low (first album I ever owned) the cure -- disintegration scaterd few -- sin disease (brilliant post-punk grunge rock) U2 -- Achtung Baby (still amazing) Catherine Wheel -- Chrome (I remember listening to them in a record store on South St. Philly) Arvo Part -- Te Deum (made me appreciate simplicity and beauty in a "classical" format) adorable -- against perfection (british brilliant early 90's rock; screw Oasis) Slowdive -- Just For A Day (the epitome of the "shoe-gaze" sound) Elliott Smith -- Figure 8 (RIP; named my son after him) The Innocence Mission -- Glow (heartache, salvation, memories and innocence all wrapped together) Radiohead -- OK Computer (perhaps my favorite album of all time)

I took me longer to figure out how to get a picture off my Razr onto my Powerbook, than it did to take this. Sufficiently horrible. So, first its a cellphone photo, shot from above, AND you can see the glow of my laptop (like the evil stalker I'm supposed to be) ... I think that qualifies as "MySpace"y

I didn't get arrested. I went to the Peterson Cartridge Company plant, on the Little Miami River (about a mile from my house). Its a completely closed off, No Trespassing area (many cops patrol off and on, mostly because of the vandalism and apparent "satanic" rutual stuff). Anyway, I'll post more pictures from the trip in a bit ...
