OK, so even though I live in the Nashville area, there are some major obstacles in my ability to be around the Throwdown much - if at all - this weekend...much like my participation this go round. I'm having surgery on my finger today, so tonight will be recovery from that I imagine. I've got freelance work covering me up, and we've spent money on trips to Portland and Atlanta in the past month which leaves no money to play with this weekend. Merry Christmas, Bearded Brethren! I don't know if I've ever been sick for a holiday before, but I certainly am this year. Sucks, too. Until this year, I'd never had strep throat before in my entire life. Got it once in February, and it decided to pay me a visit for Christmas as well. Long story, but after much finagling, I managed to get some antibiotics going today and should be getting to feeling better in a few days. All that said, I am still so incredibly blessed. I have so many amazing things going on in life, and I can't even begin to be discouraged by something so minuscule as this. I have an wonderful, beautiful wife who loves me so well on a daily basis. I have 3 awesome children that are in great health. I have family and friends who are down for me! And here's the one where some of you will check out, and that's ok... And above all else, I have a God who sacrificed the life of his Son for me. I have a Savior who came to Earth in one of the more dirty and difficult times in history and lived a perfect life. A friend who died a horrible death and hung on a cross in my place. A Lord who didn't just die, but came back from the dead and is alive today!!! And because He lives, I have hope and a way to be with God now. I know that all may sound cheesy and that there are a lot of BS-artist politicians and preachers out there who are using the birth of Yeshua as a way to gain political favor or drain more people of their money, but I also am convinced that God is real, and He loves each one of us so much. Jesus the Christ is the greatest gift of all, and I'm thankful for what He did and what He continues to do for me. The "scratch" is in the bottom right of the pic. I've taken off the lens and checked both sides. Cleaned both sides, and it seems to be INSIDE the lens, but when I'm not using it, it's in a padded bag, so I'm not sure how something would even get "scratched" in the inside!
